System Requirements
64-bit Windows Vista or later
1GB hard drive space
8GB RAM (recommended)
2GB GPU Video RAM (when using GPU acceleration)
CHANGES IN THIS BUILD
Added: Mac OS X 10.13.3 Open CL support.
Added: FCPX XML 1.6 and 1.7 import support.
Fixed: Image quality issues when doing IPP2 GPU Adaptive Demosaic operations.
Fixed: REDline export issues.
Fixed: IPP2 / RED ROCKET-X rendering issues.
Fixed: REDline Help Text and Logging enhancements.
Fixed: REDline support for Color Space, Gamma Curve, and HDR Peak.
Fixed: REDline Color Science and metadata issues.
Note: RED ROCKET-X support requires driver 2.1.31.0 and firmware 1.4.1.16 or higher.
Note: NVIDIA Cuda acceleration requires compute capability 2.0 or higher capable GPU on Mac with the latest NVIDIA Cuda Driver.
Note: NVIDIA/AMD OpenCL acceleration requires OpenCL 1.1 or higher capable GPU

Has RED ever stated what’s faster; OpenCL or CUDA? You’d figure if OpenCL was faster, they’d drop support for CUDA (since I think all CUDA GPUs support OpenCL).

EDIT: My "Check for Updates" also isn't working either (says, Nothing New Available".)

Why is the auto-update feature in RedCine broken? Will it be fixed?

Auto update is not broken. We haven't turned it on yet. Except for major releases, we usually wait a week or so to get some initial feedback from early adopters.

Steven,

Sorry if I posted it sooner than you would have wanted. I'm always checking for an update at the link I posted above and really never use autoupdate. I always like to have the latest version of the only program with the full implemention of the IPP2 workflow.

Good to know!

And does the RED Team have any opinions on OpenCL vs CUDA performance?

Just ran this test on 50.2...

Intel i9-7940x 14 core @ 4.3 Ghz
128 RAM
1x Titan XP
NVME storage

Transcoding 8KHD 8:1 Heiium clip to UHD ProRes 422 HQ. Full debayer. Clip Duration is 3:16

CUDA: 04:46.668
OPENCL: 04:49.681

Thanks DJ!

I guess 3s is better than nothing. Wonder if playback is any smoother... something tells me it’d be negligible.

Not a problem. We are happy to have the forum users running the software as soon as it comes out. We appreciate the feedback you provide.

Where is the best place to file a RCX bug? Support site seems geared towards cameras.

50.2 is acting flaky with "Number of frames to process" setting on dual cpu machine. It shows max of 32 one time i launch RCX, then 256 max the next time i launch. No consistency. On Win 10

If you file through support, then a ticket gets created to track the issue. If you post in on the forum, no way to know how soon it will be seen. If you can provide some specific repro steps, we can look into the number of frames to process issue you are seeing. Please include system detail and which GPU, if any, you are using in RCX.
