I've installed a RedRocket card in an HP XW8600 2x QC 3.0GHz with 8GB RAM under Vista Business 64-bit SP1. I'm primarily using it for use with Avid MetaFuze. I installed the drivers and firmware that came with MetaFuze (as recommended per Avid).

I was interested in investigating RedCine-X. Downloaded it today, but when I run it, I get a few error messages. One is saying that the RedRocket has firmware 0.0.0.0, and I should install at least 1.1.4.something. Then it tells me that the Rocket is on a 0x PCIe speed slot and cannot be used (it is in fact in Slot 4, whcih is PCI-E(2) x16 mechanical, and set to x8 electrical via system BIOS. Then it tells me that the Rocket will be unavailable in RedCine-X because of that. Then it tells me again that the Rocket has firmware 0.0.0 and I should up it to 1.1.6.something.

I downloaded the current driver/firmware package, installed the new firmware, but still get the same errors.

Does anyone have a clue for me?

You don't need the dip switches to install the firmware.
Just run the firmware install (see the install pdf).

If you're still having issues, please email myself and Dan Duran (duran at red)/

We had the similar problem with MetaFuze.
It does see firmware as 0.0.0.0 and wrong driver.
MichaelP answered in Metafuze thread that Metafuze doesn't work with the latest drivers but needs the ones coming with Metafuze.
They should be somewhere in Metafuze folder after install.

As Metafuze is not our primary app we give up and use RedCine-X only.

Hope it hepls a bit

MetaFuze is my primary app, I just wanted to try RedCine-X.

When using MetaFuze, I stick to the firmware that comes with MetaFuze (1.1.4.24_1.8.9).

When trying RedCine-X, I used the latest firmware from the Red Support pages.

It is RedCine-X (not MetaFuze) that tells me that the firmware is wrong (even after installing the new firmware version).

P.S. Right now, I've moved back to MetaFuze, I reinstalled 1.1.4.24_1.8.9, but I don't experience any acceleration in MetaFuze at all.
