Redcine using filmlook taking forever

I have a RED ROCKET card which seems to be working perfectly, however when I enable any filmlook features in Redcine the render takes 10 times as long. Is this normal?

The "Film look" stuff render in your CPU's so yes it's not rocket speed... I think (not 100% on this) it's also renders on your native resolution so you might be a lot faster adding grain and such in a third party package after downscaling to HD if thats what you are doing.
