Is there any way to apply color information in redcine to the digital negative (r3d) so that when you import the proxy you see the color info? ie- I don't want to render out of redcine, just do a first pass and then work in FCS2.

I'm assuming that it takes a lot of horsepower to debayer and color the footage on the fly but assuming you had enough horsepower is it possible? Redcine seems to do it well, so I'm assuming it's more codec-centric than application centric.

Have I totally gone off my rocker?

Thanks,
J.D.

If you're looking to just do a first pass and then edit, seems to me you should take the typical workflow:

Chop up your proxies, use CRIMSON (from Ian Bloom) and then when you're in RedCine, you can do your first light and export just what you need.

I don't believe there is a way to do this in RedCine, but you can regenerate proxies with new color values baked from RedAlert.

Cool- i didn't realize that. Thanks for the info.
