RED World Tour...

I think there's a handful of us on here from Vancouver, Canada, and we've got a pretty decent Red-using film community here for sure (and non-Red-users to convert!)

I'd love to suggest FINLAND - but since it's pretty much part of scandinavia i also vote for DENMARK
SWEDEN would be a great option too..

Let me tag up .... Calgary, Alberta is a very important city as well, and it's growing, turning into Red Country ...

Why not set up a live feed from an epic to projector and get celebrities local to that country to appear. Musicians, rockstars, models, actresses, and get your event in the news.

Add Shanghai.

Jim

Canada! Winnipeg has a bigger film scene than you'd think. I've shot a few features on a RED ONE and I know there are at least a couple EPICs around town but I understand if somewhere like Toronto/Vancouver draws your attention for obvious reasons.

...Either that or something down at Warner Bros Studios on the Gold Coast...

+1 for the Gold Coast, it's just down the road from Brisbane. You might even be able to use the Gold Coast Convention Center http://www.gccec.com.au/facilities-and-services/

Something else you might consider is screening footage in 4K that's been shot locally beforehand, in 4 or 5K, by the people actually attending the event. I'm sure there are lots of RED owners and users that would love to see how the output from their own camera's looks when projected at 4K. Could be the only chance they get to see such a thing. Just set some criteria for content and duration and format and let people see for themselves what it's all about.

I second calgary, a lot of major motion pictures were shot just outside of here (and inside too), we got a large indi community too.

Japan Please Jim! I had a chance to meet Ted and play with one of the first working Scarlets I ordered it when I got home from InterBee that night. Would like to see a full Red Presentation of products on a solo stage without the distractions!

Imagine our difficulty selecting places to go. There are a million places we should stop and see. But we have 3 weeks. That's it.

Jim

In no particular order, the countries we are considering are:

Brazil
China
India
Russia
Vietnam
Korea
UK
France
Italy
Czech Republic
Romania
Australia
Canada
Japan
Germany

Jim

Please do not neglect us in the middle east, a short visit to the "holy land" will be much appreciated.

Thanks.

If you go to Denmark, I will fly over on my own dime, show you and Jarred, and red team around. I'd suggest the Marriott or the Danglaterre. Great food, and Denmark is known for it's designs (architecture) and technology (DPA MICS, Bang and Olufson) Red would be welcomed with open arms.

Yeah, it's a bit much. 21 days and 15 countries on your list. Ouch. Those aren't the kind of numbers you crunch, more like the kind of numbers that crunch you.

Jarred, Deanan, Ted, Mike and I are planning a RED World Tour beginning early 2012.

We plan on hitting 15 countries in 3 weeks.

We will make a presentation of EPIC, Scarlet, REDray and the new RED projector.

We would love as many to see this as possible. We could use your help.

If you have suggestions for your country, please comment.

Jim
Don't want to sound like an alarmist, but shouldn't one of your contingent be in an undisclosed location? Or at least traveling on a separate aircraft. I know... I know... I've been watching too many catastrophe movies.

But in all seriousness, shouldn't your pilots have a say in what countries and in what order?

..home of Lord of The Rngs, The Last Samurei, The Hobbit, Frightners, Heavenly Creatures ...and one day The Toll House ;) New Zealand would love to have Team Red. With the launch of The Hobbit in 2012, it will be a huge oppurtunity to showcase Red Tech to the NZ film industry. OR, just pop over for a cold one, I will put the welcome mat out ;)

No Spain? :-(

Any city, Madrid, Barcelona, Malaga, Valencia...

Come on, Spain is sooo big!, maybe it can be 3 weeks plus one day...

If you find the time don't miss to pass Austria, it's on the way from Italy to Germany or Czech Republic...

...and don't forget that as usual I always have the best ideas...just contact me...know a very good place you would like it...

...but for other things regarding to kind of even management and organisation I'm not able to take any responsibility here in Austria...

...and would need a help from some Austrians...
