Hi Brook,
Having just received my manna from heaven (#1687), I find that, while instructive and amusing, the reduser forum is not the most accessible format for finding critical information on various RED features. I'm sure the information I seek is all in here somewhere, but searching for it is so hit-and-miss, that it sometimes takes (literally) days for me to find answers to piddling little questions.
I would like to propose the creation of a RED Wiki, hosted by RED, that would serve in place of the (mostly non-existent) user manual. More weight would be given to RED owners (the lower their serial number the weightier their posts). Of course Jim's posts would override all others.
Don't get me wrong: I enjoy all the amusing answers to posts containing useful information, and often the followups shed more light on the matter at hand, but sometimes the me too's and attaboys make for a long hard slog through the wilderness for a little (but show stopping) crumb of information. I would still come here to be informed, amused and entertained, but I would really appreciate a Wiki where i could home in on the information I seek (and where I could share the benefit of all my wrong turns with my RED brethren).
cheers
