why is this in the footage section with no footage? can we all agree to only have links to footage in the first post of every thread in this section...?

RED footage will never look like 35mm film... and 35mm film will never look like RED.
Why because simply they are not the same thing. RED will defenitly improve over the time and will have by far better picture quality than film, currently it's difficult to say which is ''better''. I've seen a ton of RED footage and most of it is GORGIOUS!!!! I've seen a ton of 35mm footage and most of it is GORGIOUS!!!!
Not the same dough!
And all this happens when RED is in this price? It is crazy, unbeliveble, and..and... I am gona work hard for two years to get RED, but I will get it, YOU HEAR ME JANNARD? I WILL GET IT!!!!!!!!!!!!
AND RED ZOOM AND PRIMES TOO!
No I don't have that, that must be footage that is taken under the same conditions, exactly what you are doing.I am not expecting to see RED footage better than film, it is just a situation we had to compare the two side by side with the same lighting and the same shot. Film is the standard so i would like to know how the RED compares to the standard! Do you have footage that would show the comparison? i would like to see it.

WOW!!!!!
Great picture!! It really looks amazing! I'm stunned how beautiful it looks!!!!! The resolution is astonishing and the dynamic range is out of this world!
I'm flabbergasted!
It's hyper-REAL!!
only one thing though... it looks like video.
Notice how thin all the video rags are getting
Hi Guys ,
In India Myself along with a senior cinematographer Mr.Santhosh Sivan had shot a series of comparitive shots both on Red and on Kodak film 500 ASA & 250 Asa. As of now we are doing the DI at Prie Focus and hpe to see the results tomorrow on a large screen projected on a film print. My only trouble during the shoot was the camera had a major booting problem. Every time we had to shut the camera down for a battery change it wouldnt re boot and we had to keep on re trying until it got sorted. At one time it even took 45 minutes to get back to working shape. I wonder if anybody has faced these kind of problem and would hae a suggestion........ The build of the camera is 15. We used Master primes and the red lens 18 to 50.

And for a test you should not use the same ligth. Film and video does not use the same ligth set-up...
.
