I am preparing my home for the Dragon;) there is still time .. the important 'to opponents eating dust, as it exits the lair ...:reddevil:

Jim,

Thanks for all you do, ever since i got in to filmmaking a dreamed of a still camera that could shoot 24p sec, and you guys delivered! Super happy with our Epic MX, images we get from it still blows my mind. Super excited for the dragon, project, red ray, etc. But like you said you are way ahead of the pack so when we finally get stuff from you guys "late in your mind" its still really early for us and i'm sure we are all grateful.

Now even more excited for Star Trek. Loving my red and excited to see where red takes us. Wild love to know which 78 scenes... ;)

Yes I follow your Dream steps...........

as someone who is going to join the Red family with the Dragon, i can't wait. but i wholeheartedly understand the time to get it all perfect. everything's gotta cook. love and support you guys and cant wait for the future.

Know the Dragon will be insane, but come on, the Epic MX is so sick, so small, and so easy. RED is there already. Blows my mind that it's getting better.

I hang my head because we are late... I hold my head high because we are leading the way.

Jim

As long as you continue to wake up everyday with the goal of making the best damn camera on the planet, there is no reason for you to hang your head. Everybody just caught up to where your vision was 6 years ago, if anything, all of your competitors are 6 years late on what they should've been selling to their customers. So in my books you've still got the best turn-around time on earth.

Yeah one more thing, when you come out with the specs and delay the launch, it only means that you are trying to push the specs more. Thats what being late means to us. However, we need post like this to keep going :-))

I would wait another YEAR for my Redray and Dragon. I'm fairly new to RED. I love this. It's the only company that gets me excited about gear again frankly. If it wasn't for you guys, I'd be buying another Sony camera this year, and probably next. And it would still be a 1080 camera. Putting a lime in my Corona, feet up and will patiently wait until it's ready. No matter when, they will be the best products (lovingly) out there!

"I love deadlines. I like the whooshing sound they make as they fly by."

...We have dreams that cannot be imagined. Once we deliver what you know about… there is more. Much more… only this time, we aren't going to tell you until they are done.

Jim

Not a problem. :-) Looking forward to it when you are ready.

I guess you can say Red is really Dragon their ass on this one.

Ha... Ha..... Cough cough. Sorry.

It feels different then before because we have nice toys to play with while we wait.
Somehow when you have a car that goes 120mph and the speed limit is 55, its easier to wait for the one that goes 220mph.

"Your work is going to fill a large part of your life, and the only way to be truly satisfied is to do what you believe is great work. And the only way to do great work is to love what you do. If you haven't found it yet, keep looking. Don't settle. As with all matters of the heart, you'll know when you find it. And, like any great relationship, it just gets better and better as the years roll on. So keep looking until you find it. Don't settle."

Steve Jobs

And another one:

"When you grow up you tend to get told the world is the way it is and you're life is just to live your life inside the world. Try not to bash into the walls too much. Try to have a nice family, have fun, save a little money. That's a very limited life.
Life can be much broader once you discover one simple fact:

Everything around you that you call life was made up by people that were no smarter than you and you can change it, you can influence it, you can build your own things that other people can use.

Once you learn that, you'll never be the same again."

Steve Jobs

Dare to dream bigger.

It's why I embraced Red since day one.

It's also my ethos in everything I do, like applying to be an astronaut with Mars One.

There will always be those who say something cannot by done. I always like to wave at them as I fly past, doing that impossible thing.

Per ardua ad astra. Through adversity to the stars. In my case, both figuratively AND literally!

Never stop dreaming Jim. Those of us who are with you understand.

Cheers from Tokyo,

Paul :)

every calendar should come with a warning:

"WARNING: Dates in this calendar are closer than they appear!"

I hope the Dragon delay is not by much. I have a shoot in July scheduled by nature that is unmovable :)

Last time I was involved in something that was late I discovered my wife was pregnant!
