  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Red Store

The RED RAM is coming. It will show back up as soon as we receive 2.5" SATA flash that is fast enough. Certainly by the end of the year.

The only thing that has gone away is the Premium Package.

Jim

Thank you so much for that. Late at night, half asleep, I let myself worry. I should have known better.

can't get no Statisfaction

can't get no Statisfaction

when you click on an item, it says "100% Statisfaction Guaranteed" to the right. I think you mean "Satisfaction" :)

Apart from one misspelling, the store looks excellent! I'm looking forward to seeing some descriptive writeups on the lenses, also.

It is a $500 option that is not mandatory. But we STRONGLY recommend that every customer consider it. So far, every camera has gone out with it.
To be fair, if no RED-DRIVEs are ready yet, then it's the ONLY option anyone has to shoot with the RED ONE right now. So unless there were a lot of people expected to show up and buy a $17,500 paperweight, I think it's pretty clear why "every camera has gone out with it." :)

That being said, I think there is enormous potential with the CF option, and as capacities rise and prices continue to fall (I think RED's 8GB 300x card at $199 is great!), it will probably be the only way people use the camera in the future. The drives are important right now because they're the only way we can shoot a longform event or documentary with the camera, but they're also bulky and fragile. Solid state is definitely the way to go if your production allows for it.

We will continue to add accessories as they become available. Birger Engineering is handling all the Canon mounts.

Hello all, I didn't see this option when I was ordering my cam, or in the store. How can I ensure that my cam is shipped with the CF included? Discussed at time of shipping, or time of ordering? Thanks and sorry for the confusion.

I don't speak for Red, but from what I've seen they've shown every sign of having common sense*. So when your camera is ready, if the storage option you ordered isn't ready yet, I'm pretty sure they will check with you before shipping you a camera that can't record.

*Not intended as sarcasm. Some other manufacturers do not display common sense.

Are RED CF cards available for immediate shipping?

I guess what I was trying to illustrate is that I would have opted for the CF Module when I ordered, but did not see the option. Not sure if I missed anything. Thanks
