  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

RED STATION

...iPad for offload...

What about working out a deal for the power supply? Using one of the CF modules (or maybe even two) doesn't warrant having the power supply as a definite. But I wouldn't mind getting 2 of the CF modules and one of the RED MAG 2.5" modules. That's when I will want the power supply. If I buy the three modules, can you throw in the power supply for free/reduced-price?

What if...

What if...

Forget about offload, how about a way to use the iPad as the control for the copy procedure. The most portable solution, as I understand it, is a laptop and a Red Station. I can hang with that, no complaints. But, what if...

What if we could manage Red Station copy operations from an iPhone or iPad? Perhaps a combination power/bus hub/bluetooth module with a small microprocessor as the Red Station base with various media modules stacked on top driven from your portable device. All you're doing is cloning data so a very simple GUI/app ought to be able to manage that. Obviously thumbnails and other niceties could be added.

Just an idea. Imagine Nexto meets Red Station and they have a smart baby.

Thanks Joseph, I was there.

In fact I sat behind you at the second RED session.

:-)

Aye. If we met, so sorry I didn't remember.

Being at my first RED day proved that I am on REDuser too much. Especially when (1) Graeme says "No need to introduce yourself, I know you Joseph. (2) Stuart is walking by me in the hall quickly and says "Hey Joseph, how's it going" (3) Deanand says "Yeah, Ted was talking to me about you the other day. (4) Jon knows me (5) a whole bunch of people come up asking "Joseph Hutson?"

RED Day was really cool. Thanks to Jannard and Co. for such a great time and reason to come together.

Every con I've been to, I didn't think they even had beds :) But for us on the east coast that couldn't make it, there were a lot of things I wanted to see and you captured them for me :) One day maybe they'll do something on the east coast I can make easier!

Where do you order the RED Station.?

Where do you order the RED Station.?

The RED STATION modular reader system will begin shipping April 14th.

The RED MAG 2.5", RED CF, and BASE STATION are priced at $250 per module and $250 per Base.

Each Module can be used independently or linked together as a system, using E-SATA, FIREWIRE 800/400 or USB2.0.
