  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

RED STATION 1.8" and 2.5"

First limited batch of Side SSD modules for the RED ONE and SSD Media go on sale next Wed.

Happy holidays :)

I bet morale at RED HQ will be pretty darn jolly this Christmas. It's very exciting to read along as it all goes down.

Dynamic Duo... This is the first time any of you have seen the new machined SSD mags as well:

Bea-ti-ful! I can't wait to get my hands on these!

However, needing a Red station and a Netxo, kind of defeats the purpose of an all in one unit. Especially, as the Red Station would need its' own power.

Yeah, the optimal choice would be a nexto with a native 1.8" Red slot, but it being a propietary design makes me think that's not an option that'll be available soon, or maybe ever...

That does look perfect. Nicely done! Anxiously awaiting next Wednesday.

I have to say, this gives R1 M-X an extended life if one chooses that path. Such a slick, low profile, high capacity solid state solution. Throw a Bomb EVF on a R1 and it does shrink the form factor down quite a bit. At least until Epic arrives. :-)

Jeff likes this

So, how limited is this first production? First-come, first-served, I'm assuming or going off customer #?

Are all the SSD modules going to be machined? Or are those just the prototypes and initially produced ones until the mass-produced ones start flowing?

These look great, Jarred. Not to flood the threads with more tough questions, but have you guys come up with an "upgrade" price for the EPIC package if we go with the SSD INSTEAD of the CF module? I know the price for the SSD Module for Epic was originally set at $2500. Just wondering how much it will be so we can decide whether or not to upgrade the RED One as we wait for Epic...or hold off and save for the Epic accessories.

Thanks!

Kevin

must have:party:

we are not making 2.5" drives... they are for offloading footage any standard 2.5" SATA bare drive will work.

Do we need to send our Red body in to have the module installed or can it be done easily?

user changeable... easy.

Also.. priority of shipments will goto customers with existing open RED DRIVE/ RED RAM orders ( who have been waiting a very long time )
