Very interesting Brian, thanks again for some very useful footage. This is the second video i've seen where I prefer the skin tone OLPF over the standard OLPF, not only on the skin but especially the surrounding elements in frame, the colors seem a bit more contrasted, especially obvious with the red on those Campbells soup cans. It clearly doesn't perform as well in lower light as the standard OLPF. I am now considering just using Skin tone for day shots and LLO for night shots. Do you have any experience with the LLO? Which one do you prefer, standard or skin tone?

Thanks for sharing your test. It clearly shows the highlight retention and color fidelity of the STH filter. Maybe it's the softening of the video compression or the better processing in Scarlet-W but on my Scarlet Dragon, the STH filter drops into noise more quickly when underexposed. I really like all the items in the shot. The Christmas tree is a nice touch. :)

What I'm learning as a key difference refers to the skintone portion and it's difficult for me to determine much difference in REDlogFilm but it's a nice display of shadow and highlight. It'd be great to see a similar test in REDGamma4 to see how the saturation effects skin tone.

Really great to see this test. Thanks, again.

I agree, there's certainly more saturation with the STH. Unfortunately I don't have any experience using the Low-Light Optimized, it wasn't available for me to test when I shot this.

I actually prefer the Standard in most cases mainly because a lot of the stuff I shoot can be all over the place. I still believe it's worth it to have both in your kit and it obviously depends on your shooting conditions.

I'll see if I can upload a RedGamma4 version of the still to better represent the color shift.

We shot CF Weapon yesterday with Skintone OLPF (btw 800 and 1600) and it BLEW US AWAY!!!

Noise free.

Incredible DR!!!
