There's no dealer priority.
They just ordered in quantity. The only way to get a Raven/SW faster than ordering from RED direct is to purchase a slot in a dealer quantity order.
Hypothetical Example:
Maxx Digital ordered 25 Raven packages on December 22 2015.
Out of the 25 ordered they have 16 customers allocated to those ordered.
That means today, they have 9 more empty spots.
Meaning, you can call Maxx Digital and purchase one of those spots and get your camera set next month when they ship from RED.
That's how people that ordered from Drone Nerds in April are unboxing their SW right now.
They merely bought a slot in a dealer quantity order. As Brent has stated, there is no priority. And no, this doesn't 'smell like Blackmagic'. BM could never dream to be an infinitesimal fraction of the company RED is.
Bottom line: Brent, Jarred, and the rest of the entire RED team has been forthright and honest about virtually everything they've said. And when they've made a mistake, a miscalculation, or an overly modest estimate on timeframe or delivery, they've owned up and publicly corrected their mistake whilst offering an explanation. Furthermore, PRE ordering a camera set then setting a shooting date that requires said preorder is YOUR mistake. Any professional would tell you not to ever schedule a shoot unless you have equipment in hand or contracted out. It's simply bad business. Never count your chickens before they hatch. Ever.
