RED Retailer Concerns (Image One)

There's no dealer priority.
They just ordered in quantity. The only way to get a Raven/SW faster than ordering from RED direct is to purchase a slot in a dealer quantity order.

Hypothetical Example:
Maxx Digital ordered 25 Raven packages on December 22 2015.
Out of the 25 ordered they have 16 customers allocated to those ordered.
That means today, they have 9 more empty spots.
Meaning, you can call Maxx Digital and purchase one of those spots and get your camera set next month when they ship from RED.

That's how people that ordered from Drone Nerds in April are unboxing their SW right now.
They merely bought a slot in a dealer quantity order. As Brent has stated, there is no priority. And no, this doesn't 'smell like Blackmagic'. BM could never dream to be an infinitesimal fraction of the company RED is.

Bottom line: Brent, Jarred, and the rest of the entire RED team has been forthright and honest about virtually everything they've said. And when they've made a mistake, a miscalculation, or an overly modest estimate on timeframe or delivery, they've owned up and publicly corrected their mistake whilst offering an explanation. Furthermore, PRE ordering a camera set then setting a shooting date that requires said preorder is YOUR mistake. Any professional would tell you not to ever schedule a shoot unless you have equipment in hand or contracted out. It's simply bad business. Never count your chickens before they hatch. Ever.

Yes Brandon is Correct I got lucky and received my Red Raven from Drone Nerds I pre-order in Jan 23rd direct with RED switch to Drone Nerds and now I'm a happy camper.

I transferred to Image One too. Last time I checked, they told me that they were in the dark as well regarding the RED RAVENs. I'm just not sure that it was the right move to do but anyway, they look like a legit company.

Maybe since not many people (RED users) have been allocated this week, I feel RED is maybe fulfilling large bulk dealer orders? I moved to a dealer and waiting patiently.

Thanks for clarifying, I missed those posts in the April update. I was busying out shooting and making money, not sitting on REDuser.
My RED rep told me dealers get a small priority at NAB thats why I switched, My dealer, told me they get a priority as well. So when this is the information I am given, you can understand why there was a lot of confusion and guessing.
Also, don't assume I am one of the many idiots who booked work on a camera that barely exists yet, I have 5 other cameras that work just fine. None of my clients know I have a RED on the way for this reason alone.

Hello everyone, Robert Meeks here from Image One Camera & Video.

First and foremost, I personally work day and night as well as many of my days off to help you (the customer) with anything you ask. If there has been any miscommunication or confusion of that, I apologize on behalf of myself, Image One and my staff. We are all in this ship together and unfortunately we are waiting on our orders just as many of you are. As soon as we are notified of allocation and shipment, that information will immediately be transferred over to you (our customers.) Image One is here to support RED Digital Cinema and we only offer the exact information provided to us, relayed back to you as our customers. If anyone has any questions, concerns or otherwise please feel free to contact me directly. Moving forward, let's remember we are all in the same industry chasing the same goals. I wish to all of you a great day and much success...

Thank You,

Robert Meeks

If you buy from a dealer, do you think you have to go through that dealer for any service, repairs, or upgrades?

I think you can still go through RED, but I'd love to get clarification on this point. Anyone know for sure?

UPDATE: Just got a call from Image One that our DSMC2 7" Monitor for Raven and Mini-Mag station just shipped to us. Robert has helped out a lot over there keeping us up to date on expected items coming in from RED so it seems that things are finally moving out.
