  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

NO - it is today/tonight (for us in Europe) RED said the 30th November, by my definition that is 'now-ish'. I will be really disappointed if I sit up all night and RED fail on the message. It's one thing a delay on delivery but when you have clearly stated an announcement .........to fail on that and you have lost me. That would be totally unacceptable.
 
It is 3pm at our office on Nov 30, and we are already talking about us failing? That might be a new record :)

How sad. We are not even talking about delivery. As die hard RED supporters we are looking for an update - that's all. We have grown to expect a delay in delivery. But I have to say my patience is wearing thin. You crashed the price on EPIC because you feared the price point of the new Sony cameras. You are hit by the fact that 4K is NOT happening overnight as both you, I and a lot of others expected a much faster take up.

I teeter on the edge and tonight you could well loose me. I have clients talking about 4K and more importantly what is available for them to deliver 4K............It's in your hands to push the envelope of 4K delivery tonight.

I'm fed up of the RED nayslayers - I'm sick to death of it, defending the camera, the post workflow - in fact everything RED. The next person who walks up to me and tells me to shoot Alexa - emmmmm.

Tonight you must deliver an announcement on Dragon and REDRay. I'm not talking delivery but you have to say something. If you don't my cheque book is poised for an F55. Sorry but that's the truth.

Michael, I checked the record books - when did we say we were going to announce something and did not? Rhetorical question....

Iain, I was just saying it felt like we were getting reactions without a corresponding initial action. I am sorry if I struck a nerve with trying to keep the mood light.

I will go back to work now...
 
Good to see that the internet still can't handle time zones, its not like the concept isnt old enough to be the internets grandfather...

As someone in the UK with family who've served in the milatary aand/or go to international conferences, quite how bad people are with time is staggering.

Hell given the loacation of a fair number of tech companes I've long since given up on big news reliably coming out while I'm awake.

Huge apologies! Clearly I'm jumping the gun. RED is different, you have this direct user feedback, in realtime forum, that people (including me) just expect thing's to happen in real time, when it's said etc,etc.
When someone comes along and says it will not it just puts people like me back in the trenches defending RED, the company we love. I just don't want to be defending me and RED the entire time. When you make an announcement about an announcement - you deliver, I understand its not the product.

It's just time for the right message of intent.

Apologies if I upset - that was never my intention.
