Red Raven and Rode Videomic Rycote

Hello to everyone, today I've received a Rode videomic Rycote and I've quickly tested it mounted on the Raven while playing my weissenborn guitar. Really impressed by the camera preamp! I've recorded on purpose with very low gain and then raised back in post, it can handle a lot of "stress"

Does anyone tested other mics on the Raven? I'm really trying to figure out what is the best solution for basic audio on the camera, I use external audio but having the possibility to record in the camera helps in certain projects, sometime I like to have an audio "point of view" from the camera in the mix.

Hi Patrick It was the purpose of this test to try the Raven preamp with a super inexpensive mic. Just to see how much it could handle. Consider that the videomic has some noise and in this video was attached to the camera at approx. 1,3m from me. Btw I think 2m is not the ideal distance to record a voice with a product like this so I didn't tested it in this way
