Hi all I wanted to know one thing, let me know if anyone knows it, The Red Monstro or let it be any DSMC2 models of RED comes with a Standard OLPF which helps to cut IR & UV also and also there are other interchnagable OLPF filters which help, I wanted to know if the Raptor 8KVV also has a sensor which can have interchangable OLPF filters, if no ? I wanted to understand how can I use any IR OLPF filters (may it be from RED or Kipper Tie) over the RED Raptor 8KVV, if there is no such option yet,

I also wanted to know if the sensor in front of the RED Raptor 8KVV has a Filter which filters out IR & UV and only allows light from Visible Spectrum just like the ones over any Arri or maybe Sony camera ?

DSMC3 cameras, all of them, have a more advanced Color Filtration to Cut, Block, Reject IR than the previous Skin-Tone Highlight, Standard, and Low Light Optimized Filters. These new filters also assist in mitigating internal reflections to avoid "orbs" when stopped down and filming things like the sun.

However, the older DSMC2 filters do still provide flexibility in improving noise in low light situations or even converting the camera to Infrared through a simple filter swap.

Thanks for information Phil, as always. I am not sure if there are other options for for full spectrum OLPF besides kippertie, but it seems they’re out of the full spectrum VV option. However, they offer IR option. I am interested in filming IR in the 550nm to ~650nm, if you have any experience, could I get footage at these wavelengths with the kippertie’s false color OLPFs (of course the appropriate IR filters in front of the lens)?

Hello everyone,

I'm curious about the OLPF (Optical Low Pass Filter) options for the Red Raptor 8K VV sensor. I know that other DSMC2 models of RED cameras come with a standard OLPF that helps cut out IR (Infrared) and UV (Ultraviolet) light, and there are interchangeable OLPF filters available as well.

I'm wondering if the Raptor 8KVV sensor also supports interchangeable OLPF filters. If not, I'd like to understand how I can use IR OLPF filters from RED or other manufacturers with the Raptor 8KVV. Catlikesbest

Additionally, I'm curious if the sensor in front of the RED Raptor 8KVV has a built-in filter that filters out IR and UV light, allowing only light from the visible spectrum, similar to filters used in Arri or Sony cameras.

If anyone has information on these topics, I'd greatly appreciate your insights.

Thank you.
