  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

RED Pro Primes 2.0 (Battle-Tested)

You received this e-mail from who? RED? I would totally be interested in these lenses.

The lenses are the same, they all cover 6K on Dragon just fine except for the 18mm. These are battle-tested sets and a great deal while they last!

If a lens covers 6k, you don't need to worry about it covering 4k and 5k, it's got it covered.

Interesting, just received this email about a limited amount of RPP 2.0's that can cover 4k, 5k, AND 6K.

I'm thinking RED has rearranged the optics so the lenses can be used with DRAGON...which would be awesome.

Funny, that's what I have my set listed at on the for sale section here as well... At least they didn't completely slash the market value of them on me!

I started browsing the forum for a set of RPP's just a couple days ago. What timing! Continuing to look for a privately used set makes no sense so... I put an order in this morning!

RED's set are very lightly used by the sound of it but a touch more expensive due to taxes however they come with a 90 day warranty. Warranty or not, the confidence of buying from RED over ANY private seller can't be calculated. A less important factor is the case looks nice and clean :biggrin5:

I can't recall if your glass was rented out or personal but even if they were your own I think your cost is now high and gives a buyer zero motivation. So in effect the used market has been affected.

25 doesn't cover either.

Phil said that the 35mm only covers 5.5k . The set would be nice for a scarlet dragon though.

6K HD should be safe or close to it. The spec wasn't in there on the build installed on that prototype, however, I made a frame guide.

6K WS should be fine on the 35mm.

Really? :( From having it projected, it looks like it should cover... Do we actually lose image in the corners or is it just noticeable porthole and vignette? What about 6K WS?

Hmmm...

Image definitely gone at the corners, not just a little vignette ... I can't be more specific though, as I don't have RPPs right here to check again at the moment

I want that!!!!!!!!!

I hope that someone can try the new Sony primes on a Dragon soon.

Seems like a great set if their 25mm covers 6k

Give me some credit, Will. I was repeating what was on the e-mail. I'm not that clueless.

I figured since the email and product said "2.0", that these were new versions of the lenses. It made sense to me at the time.
