  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Yah the new mattebox looks effing awesome in the first wave of pics that Gibby and Ketch released. Very excited about it and impressed by Red's design, as much as the functionality of their products. You guys must have some very skilled designers on board :)

Seriously though, I wonder if other flags can attach to the RED MB? Hopefully RED will have them available soon.

Out to 16mm is pretty good. Especially if that's on M008 @ 5K. :)

Same here. Shipping to Europe is quite expensive and with all the hassle of customs and so on it makes sense to wait until it's possible to order the MB with the necessary accessories and add-on rotatable stages.
 
This is the best clip on I have ever used.

It's also the lighted ever for this size.

RPP, Ruby, and Master Primes? It work on all of them.

You will love it.

In all seriousness, I wonder also if Arri flags will fit on Red MB in the meanwhile.

Compared to which clip ons? LMB5, LMB15? Stationary trays and no flags or hard mattes, please elaborate on why this is the greatest clip on in the universe.
 
Mine arrived at 9AM CST. As usual great packaging.

Feels lighter than my older, beaten up Chrosziel clip on MB.

Tried to see if my Chrosziel top flag would line up with this one, but the screw downs are closer in than the Chrosziel by half an inch on each side.

As crazy as this sounds, I want to do this for slr lenses (a leica-r 60 macro via 5d mk II at the moment which is ironically rigged to OEM RED 19mm shoulder mount/bottom plate/2 18mm rods/L+R handle/universal plates, etc..., etc... + more gear....and am getting very close to pulling the trigger on the RED mattebox, although it will be huge for my set-up. I've been checking out third party step up adapters on Ebay and B&H, but I have to work my way up from 55mm, which the Leica is. RED's Mattebox spacer ring minimum opening diameter is 110mm at the time being, and I'm a bit confused as which step up would work close to the 110 threshold needed for the clamp to work...since at that point it looks like the adapter should be fairly wide enough and perhaps with no threads aka flush into mattebox opening when using the RED supplied 110mm spacer ring?

My work has a POLA which sits in a casing the size of a PSR/PV (4x5.65) filter which is then attached to a gear... thus you can rotate the POLA while it sits in the mattebox (we have been using it with an LMB-5).

Dont quote me but I think VANTAGE make them????
