Wear high heels.
It's more about the comfort of the operator. You can easily put a riser in if you want the lens at RED One height.
Is it just me or does that SLR configuration of scarlet look like 2x as deep as any of the renderings?
Is there an extra module on the back of the brain?
Can the scarlet be operated without the redmote? One is attached in every photo, looks like it can't....?
I think you need either the redmote or the handle, one or the other or both. could be wrong.
The handle does have a battery and controls, so yes... it's totally possible to shoot amazing footage in an extremely small footprint. The CF module is separate from the handle, but there are two options; one mounts to the left side of the camera (opposite the handle) running along the side of the body, and the other is a standard module that clamps to the back like the other module pieces. There are photos of both floating around. Each are very low profile, small add-ons. You also have the choice of using the new, small EVF or an LCD screen. If you get the Scarlet with the fixed lens, you can be running an incredibly small setup... but what's even more impressive to me is that with just a standard PL-mount lens, you can be shooting 5K with a Scarlet in that exact same configuration. It can be built to the nines or kept super tiny if you need to get a camera in a hard-to-maneuver location or for run and gun setups. Now I know why Jim is replacing his DSLRs with one of these!Does the RedHandle for the slr setup contain battery, controls, and a CF module, so you could for example have a s35 Scarlet brain with just the RedHandle attached and ready to shoot?
