Ok that's more realistic. Still pretty intense though. Geez 3400 hours of one camera being on.

I wonder how many feet of film this would all equate to?
David
Well Cails Red at 2612 hours would be:
Roughly 1000 feet = 10mins so 6000 feet = 1 hour:
2612 Hours x 6000feet an hour: 15,672,000 feet of film.
Well taking a median price from:
http://www.mediafilmservice.com/downloads/kodak-price-list.pdf
of 650 dollars per 1000 ft load approximately:
$10,186,800
But it would be slightly less than that as discounts apply when buying in bulk.
I nicknamed my camera the "Mailman" cause neither rain, nor sleet nor snow nor the brutal Louisiana summer could keep it from delivering the checks
my number is more like 4000 + lets say another 2000 for the original camera ( i bet it is more, when i get home i will find out exactly when i turned it in and i will have a more accurate number)...so that is about 6k hours
we typically have the camera on for about 14 hours, and we typically shoot about 3-4 hours of content in that time. so lets say for every hour of the camera being on, we get 17 minutes and change of content...(60/3.5)
lets correct for the camera being turned on during prep, so lets take off 1000 hours. so that leaveS 5k hours divided by 3.5 = 1428 shoot hours or 85,714 minutes x 100 feet per minute = 8,571,428 feet of film shot....x the .65 per foot number ( which is scary to me since the last time i produced a big film job i was paying .35 with my discount and .11 to process)... so let's say 8,5,71.428 x .85 = which is raw stock and processing and the number i saved my clients is... $7,285,714.29...
someone should figure out the tape costs for the telecine and also the tape cost if it was shot on hd tape....
Sorry guys, I think I got this contest in the bag :001_tt2:
