I am deciding between one of these two Camtree Hunt shoulder rigs to use with a stripped-down Red One MX, and wanted to know anyone's opinion who has experience with both the Red One MX and shoulder rigs which they think would be the better choice. I already left a deposit, so I will need to purchase one of them.

Any input would be greatly appreciated.

I have not used these shoulder rigs but with the the r1 weight is your enemy.
I use the Element Technica 15mm LightWeight Rod Support, and with the plastic Cavision handle which is very light and cheap.
If it is only a few shoots I use the Red shoulder dovetail with the base plate but for long time shoots I use a small cushion on my shoulder.

I have the Camtree Hunt rig in the second link you posted. I bought it around 2 years ago, when it was over twice as expensive on Ebay, and it was still a great deal. The dovetail receiver works well enough, and the fact that the handheld rig mounts straight to it without removing any plates is a huge plus. I'm not sure what your setup looks like, but this guy has both 19mm and 15mm lightweight adapters built in, which is really useful to me. The only negative is that one of the plastic grips has traveled up the handle and is no longer even with the other arm. I can send you pictures if you want, but it's definitely a good buy in my opinion.

Garrett, thank you for taking the time to let me know your first-hand experience with their shoulder rig.
I'm going with the one you gave a thumbs up.
