  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Red One functioning monitor list

The following Lilliput 5D-II 7" monitor is confirmed to work with the Red One.

Notes:
  • Some HDMI cables such as the XBox HDMI cables don't work very well :)
  • If you see "No Signal" turn the monitor off and back on again. It will then pick up the signal.
  • The HDMI cable included with the monitor won't work without an adapter on one end (not sure what it is called, but the small end won't connect to the monitor or the Red One).

Does anyone else have this monitor and can confirm it definitely works? Need to get a Monitor ASAP for as cheap as possible and if this works it will be great, if not then I will have to wait another month and other a DP4.

Also need to know if The LILLIPUT 5D-II 7" works well in R1, I have an REd EVF, but its too heavy, I need a 5 or 7" motinor to use when I need to reduce weight...

Also need to know how good is the Lilliput and DP4 /6 for pulling focus compared with RED EVF if possible...

If someone is looking for one, I decided to sell my RED EVF with Ronford-Baker EVF mount with cable to reduce some weight on my setup...

All Lilliput Display cuts 8% of the image on the sides?

Stated by users as working-

1. Marshall (maybe not John Stamets is having problems with his outputting pink)

this is a very good thread but I disagree with the notion of "working" a lot of field monitors will display the video feed of the mx, even my cheap marshall does.

But we most definitively need the menu dvi to be displayed, 1 for convenience in navigating through the menu on the screen instead as of on the back of the camera and 2 for the much much needed histogram.

can confirm Astro WM series monitors all work, and display all menus. includes 1st generation HD SDI 6" monitors

DVI-Menus will display on my Marshall, but it is a pinkish hue. This is not really an issue to me as we only use the Marshall for framing - not for focus and certainly not for any sort of color... anything. The colors are "natural" when menus are disabled (720), but again - not sure what that is worth as we are not using that monitor for anything color related. If we connect the HDMI to an Asus 246Q (HDMI in), the menus, histograms, stoplights, etc. display pefectly. We use the Asus as much or more than the Marshall as it is easier to get things right the first time - Better set monitors are on the list, but this works. Still no SDI monitors in inventory yet, so can't report there...

I'm also interested in this. It has very good specs. Probably the highest resolution on a 7 inch and sub 1000 $ - but this cost only 379$ . It has all sorts of custom peaking, zoom (custom scale ?) IPS screen, brightness 400cd, four user definable function keys, included sunshade in the price and others.

I'm oscillating between this and smallHD AC7 which has the same or similar specs. Anyone used the Lilliput 7" 663 with a Red ?

Hi guys......was anybody able to find a LCD which can fully work with the red one?
Thanks!

Yeah but the Lilliput 663 and 664 have much better specs (high resolution and ips screen) and cost the same. But I don't have them so can't recommend. But people on reviews said the quality is very good and I think someone here said it works well with red ?

But since they are offered on Amazon you can return them if they are not compatible.

Updating an old thread with some monitors that I have tried with my Red One MX in case it's useful to someone:

Feelworld P7S - Scaling looks good, histogram works (I had to turn off focus assist, which I did after taking the picture); SDI connection only works with System > Monitor > Preview > Video [720p] (no camera settings or exposure tools visible). In HDMI, you can turn on the menus and see everything that is on the 5in Red display, but the image seems to "pulse"

Feelworld Master MA5 - Scaling looks good (turn on Underscan), exposure tools are visible, image seems to "pulse" with a magenta hue

Feelworld F6 - Scaling maps the tops of the readouts to the bottom of the screen but is still usable, exposure tools are visible, image seems to "pulse" with a magenta hue

F&V SpectraHD 4 - Both HDMI and SDI connections only work with System > Monitor > Preview > Video [720p] (no camera settings or exposure tools visible)

Portkeys LH5HDR - Scaling maps the tops of the readouts to the bottom of the screen but is still usable, exposure tools are visible

Atomos Ninja Blade - HDMI only displays picture with System > Monitor > Preview > Video [720p] (no camera settings or exposure tools visible)
