Does anybody know where I can buy Red Body Mound? Thanks in advance.

Just in Case, if I did not explain well

Just in Case, if I did not explain well

This kind of body mount but for Red: The Bodymount offers uniquely dynamic shots by attaching the camera to a person to be photographed. The vest and brackets allow easy and comfortable placement of the camera from any angle. The vest can be hidden with wardrobe to allow framing to the middle of the chest. *-- quotation from the website: http://www.doggicam.com/master.html

I spoke with a Doggicam rep recently... they have a vest which is strong enough to hold the camera. It may need a counterweight on the other side of the wearer's body, but it is possible.

Thanks a lot.

Do you know maybe there is any other option as well?

Thanks in advance.

We need bodymount for our production division. The problem with Doggicam is we have been told by their representative that they do not sell their equipment - only rental.

In this particular case we are shooting shots where actors face must be fixed (more or less) when he moves, and changing background.

Here is a link to a video test shot with RED on a doggiecam Body mount.
Fully stripped with just a SuperSpeed Prime and a CF card.
RED LCD attached via Velcro to the vest along with battery.

Camera weight 12lbs. Within the mounts limits but definitely a need an actor with a strong back.

We made one a little while back but I don't think you could support a red without counterweights.

We modeled ours after the doggiecam. I still need to get around to finding some way for weights on the back. We've only used it with the 5d since it's so light. I also want to redesign the sled so I don't have so much heavy grip equipment on it.

here is a link to a video showing it and some test footage:

we used it for the opening scenes for this video:

Wasn't to hard to make if you want here is a link to where we discussed it more:

Hope it helps.

Great thread, keep it coming! Isn't the doggiecam also built around a Walter Klassen vest?

That video is incredible btw!

The Doggiecam system predated Walter's version. The Doggiecam folks brought their expertise with lightweight cameras (back when you had pesky things like film running through a mag) and rigging, the Klassen approach is designed around their years of research in the body harness field.

I love the bizarreness of that video (especially when the guy bangs the spar into the ground) but I'll bet the footage was great. So much more mobility when you have that much less mass leveraged from the body.
