DragonWUP? Is that Dragon Wireless Upload?

Fun times...

Just to put them side by in the same post, maybe someone can get a better guess:

I'm going to guess it's long range wireless control of the camera for when using it on an octocopter... Jarred mention wings in the first image, which is what leads me to my assumption.

Maybe W stands for WAVE.

As in Wave your Dragon goodbye if your octocopter has a single technical glitch.

Seriously though, not sure any flying accessory warrants much excitement.. Or if it does that excitement is just from a very small section of customers.

Given the marketing tease I'm hoping for something with broader implications for a wider range of customers. Why tease a niche aaccessorie?

Same here... Same with a photo specific module. Both have very limited customer bases when it comes to Dragon.

From the connectors it looks like a new module with some input/output connections.
I made a post a while ago with wild speculation on how cinema would look 10-20 years ahead and I mentioned wireless offload of footage from the camera to instant backup on set and later automatically uploaded to a special cloud service where post production and editors/editors assistants could start working directly.
Maybe it's a module and a step in that direction.

I for one want it to be as simple as a battery solution that enables 1-day power without switching batteries... a new sensor/moduleforsomething wouldn't be near as revolutionary as that kind of power solution.

I don't think it's a "new" Dragon. Why would the owners of a Dragon be "gladtheyboughtadragon" if they release a whole new camera that is better and smaller?
I'm 99% certain that it's a new mysterious module that is specific for the current Red Dragon.

i Personally hope its a small affordable 4K prores module, not that I need it personally ( actually client would be happy:) i think its needed when you look at the options the competitors are offering for work flow

If it renders offline files for editing that will link to original files at the grading stage it will definitely be a workflow game changer; no more transcoding before editing larger projects. No more sending to post production facilities to transcode etc. Editing r3d directly is nice, but it's not really an option for mid-budget productions but rather the extreme tech productions like Gone Girl was.
