Just reflecting on how incredibly cool it is that Jim, Jarred, and Red Team are like family, as are most of the rest of you here on Red User!

I don't post here anywhere near as much as I did from 2006 to 2012, but I do visit and lurk here almost daily to stay up to speed on what's happening.

I'm way proud of Red Team, and its been a great honor to be a ground floor contributor and adopter of Red.

Where would the overall motion media industry be without the stellar contributions of Red and everyone here since 2006? It hasn't been easy, but then again something of great value is never achieved easily. If it was we wouldn't value it highly.

Keep up the great work everyone...

I agreed

Absolutely. If it were not for RED, I wouldn't have met so many great folks like you, Steve.

100% agree Steve. These last few years in particular have been some of the most memorable and important to me. Red, various Red Team members, and the entire REDuser/shooter community has just been an utter joy.

Red's grown and developed so much as a company too. The various Red Stores and now international Reducation effort is pretty powerful in terms of getting gear and information into shooters hands. It's just good stuff.

In my corner of the world, i quietly appreciate this community every day.

Great post Steve!...and I would like to add: It´s a family and a amazing "Internet University for digital cinema" and movie making in general. Especially because of the contribution from people like you, David Mullen, Mark Toia, Tom Lowe, Jeff Kilgroe, Phil Holland...well too many to name them all.
Thank you all!

Thanks Mark - its been great getting to know you too.

Totally agree Phil and David - thanks for all your contributions to the family!

Thanks Marc - each of us guys you named have been helped by others throughout our careers so taking the time to help others is something we really like to do! Its called "circular karma".

Blair is a prime example of the Red family in action! In February 2010 after me and my crew were nearly killed in the giant 8.8 earthquake and tsunamis in Chile it was Blair who drove six hours up the coast to my home and helped my wife Pam pack up my Red equipment for the 6 Red camera Palladia and BluRay production of the classic rock band Heart in concert in Seattle ("Heart: Night at Sky Church"). I was DP and Blair was one of our stage front shooters. I finally escaped Chile by taking a small bus nine hundred miles over the Andes mountains to Buenos Aires, flew from there to Miami, on to L.A., met up with Pam there, then flew directly to Seattle for the Heart production. Me and Blair both shot stage front shoulder held for the production.

Without Blair's help I'd have missed the gig, and it ended up being way healing for me to just jump right back into work. I'm sure there are tons of stories everyone here could tell about other members of our extended Red family stepping up to help us. That's what family does...

You said it Steve! Some just don't realize or refuse to admit the monumental shift in the industry caused by Red. We have all benefited from it.

I did notice your decreased presence on RU but hope to catch you again at NAB. Hope all goes well for you.

I miss the good old days...

Being on the East coast I sometimes had to stay up way past my bedtime when Jim posted his visionary thoughts online. Because sometimes the entire thread would vanish by the morning... didn't want to miss any of the excitement.

A big "amen"! Red has definitely changed my world as well. Steve, I miss your posts. I modeled much of my setup after your inspiration to be small and light. Nice to see you on here again!

Thanks guys - its always good to visit here and catch up!

Even though my busy work schedule hasn't given me the time to post much in the past few years, I've always stopped by Red User regularly to see what the news is, who's doing what, etc. Its mind-boggling to me to see how much talent, experience, and forward thinking ideas there are here among both Red Team and and Red User members.

Best to all of you and I hope to post a lot more sometime in the near future.

Again, we're all a big worldwide family here - and to me that's incredibly cool!
