  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Red iPhone apps?

... Apple want $99 from me to give it away for free on their store (the only way to download apps to the iPhone).

Seems like I wasted my time.

I think you will find that a very large number of iPhone/iTouch users have 'jailbroken' phones. These come with an app called Installer that let anyone distribute iPhone software without Apple's restrictive policies. Developers using this method usually have a Paypal donation link built in.

Check out this page for info how to do it.

I'd buy it.

You oughta put a field of view & equivalent focal length calculator in there as well. PCam and PCine are on their way for iPhone as well.

Here ya go. I think that's all the features I'm adding for the moment.
I have put a custom sensor size, and LMF (Lens Magnification Factor) on these two so people can use them to convert between different lens types (Nikon, Cannon, 16mm, 35mm) as well as sensor/ film sizes. Primarily this App is for RED, so don't expect me to add presets for every other format.

Ed,

Kudos man, This looks fantastic.

Any word from Apple on including it in the store?

Is there a work around to install the App without getting it through iTunes?

So exactly how are we going to be able to purchase it? And when do you think it will be available?

Heya,

Totally in for a copy.

It looks like they are opening up to more developers now that they have 4-5 copies of the flashlight application up there. Nyuk!

Users downloaded 10 million apps on the first day.

I know I picked up a bunch of the free ones and a few in the $5 - $10 range. You would definitely make your investment back and probably a nice profit from it as well. RED owners won't be the only ones downloading it.

Nice going on the app!

I'm totally in. Get it up!

No wonder your camera is called Einstein.

Seriously though, hope you're trying to get it published to iTunes. Send them the link to this thread B-)

It's currently awaiting iTunes approval.
If that fails, i'll see if I can make it into a Jailbreak app (not as easy as it sound with the new firmware), then at least some people can use it.

Ed; is there anyway we can influence itunes? - i.e. email someone at itunes saying we are interested in your app.
