  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

RED in middleast

MY boss friends in NY has orderd early 3 Reds coming to abudhabi as expected ,(and it depends on red schedule update )at the end of january they will open business there and i heard from him that there is at least more that another 3 units from different purchase they will be travel to abudhabi.
for dubai i heard there is some outside purchases

i am supervisor of cinesystems development responsible about 4 production houses in(dubai,abudhabi,alain)..i have to arrange their needs of technology
that fit in place with Red technology and Dalsa .we are planing to start network of media services with the next 1 or 2 monthes .if you need any more infos just PM me .thanks

I am from Canada, but spent 3 months last year in Saudi Arabia. I am a partner in a production company there. we have two partners (one from Canada, and one from U.S.) who live there full-time, and handle sales. Myself and one other partner (both of us from Canada) handle production when jobs come in.

We bring in crew from Canada to work with some local crew and together the production is done. We do our post production work back here in Canada mainly, but sometimes, on smaller jobs, we'll do it in the Kingdom.

We normally shoot on HD (a variety of cameras, from HDX900 to Sony F900, etc.) but now will look to utilize our REDs when appropriate.

And what is your business? Is there an opportunity for us to work together at all? Maybe our services compliment one another.....???

Cool. Well, if you are in Saudi Arabia, and you are interested, I might have some work for you while there. We always bring our camera teams in from Canada, but if there was someone there already, I would definately consider using them. Only if you have some free days you WANTED to fill of course.
 
we will be shooting some branding spots for a telco, and will be traveling to several countries and continents, i have no idea what the schedule is or where we will be or even when we are leaving and coming home, but we will let you know if we come close to saudi arabia.

has there been a camera in the region yet?
