RED in Chicago

Red in Rockford

Red in Rockford

I'm 657 in Rockford, IL 80 miles west of ya.

Chicagoooooooooooooooo

Chicagoooooooooooooooo

I am in the city with one Red on the way.... sometime.... someday....

Welcome, Hoffman! Glad to hear you are on-board.

I'd host a RED hands-on with 659 for all you guys who want to check out which accessories you want. I bet you Pablo and I could have two geared up.

Who's in? Kendal? Neil?

We're in Champaign-Urbana, about 2 hours south of Chicago in Central Illinois (University of Illinois). Our company has RED #456 and we're going to be using it for both Industrial Video stuff and Narrative Film stuff.

iboyce,

If I were you I would be very cautious about hanging out around some of those Cook County guys. Espically any of them who look like they might have ties with heavy equipment operations. Heavy equipment = unions=you know who. Just a word of caution about some of those boys up in Crook County.

Chuck

iboyce, you just never mind about all that. There's room for you in the Chicago family. It's a really close knitt thing. We look out for eachother.

Closely.

Very.

Is it me - or do many of the tours from companies demoing stuff seem to skip over Chi-town??????

It would be nice to maintain a Red connection here. I bet a soon as these things start rolling off the line we will see a lot more interest in the midwest.

We'll give new meaning to the phrase "get shot in Chicago"

I anticipate my RED soon, and will def. be interested in working/testing with it as soon as possible. Who do you know of in the Chicago/IL/Wis area that is getting a RED this year? I am looking towards November for mine at 657

Kendal at Lighthouse is getting one (in the 1100's), and I have two coming. I think Fletcher has at least five (I may remember eight . . . maybe they have two res. holders). I remember checking the Red map earlier this year and saw a couple of reservations in Wisconsin. I suspect there are a few more in the area since then.

Lakeview Productions and Lighthouse Media will be putting 659 through the paces when it arrives November 10ish. Stephen, you're invited! We'll post a time and place when we know more of the ship schedule. Maybe we can PM anyone who's interested as well.

Pablo, you wanna bet I can get -59 before your -57? lol. What goodies are you getting with her?

-Chris

Chris, i have yet to configure anything - i'm still looking on, and watching footage, waiting for lens tests, etc.

you going to the fletcher "Red One Midwest Launch" this wednesday?

I've got mine coming early 2008... kind of painful to say it that way.

If current shipping dates hold it looks like we'll be getting ours in December. Will have all lenses and accessories as they ship. Just wish we had it for projects we're doing now . . . and for Farve winning the Superbowl (cheeseheads always have faith in the gold and green).

Anybody know who Kurt in Wisconsin is? He's an early res holder too.

Hi Jim. I'm a freelance owner / operator in Milwaukee or at least I will be come November. We should definitely get in touch. I’ll be at the "Red One Midwest Launch” tonight. If anyone wants to say “hi”
I’ll be wearing a brown “Milwaukee International Film Festival” T-Shirt.

Go Packers! Go Brewers!

I'll be there tonight...

<<<<< I look like that.

GO CUBS!!!

Well, what'd you guys think of the presentation tonight? I was a bit surprised by the discussion--mostly about workflow. How'd you like the examples they displayed? I was not overly impressed by the projector, and I would have liked to know what was being uprezed and what was 2k or greater--e.g., the monitor-out was 720 and looked less than stellar, and there was alot of 1000asa shots. However, I thought the trailer to Crossing looked AMAZING. I have never seen the short.

I thought the pannel discussion was pretty good, though nothing new to folk on this forum.

I officially am crosseyed waiting, now. A beautiful thing, number 30 looked. Thanks Jim M., for giving us a peek! You carried yourself well, and your lighting was great.

Hoffman and iboyce, I missed you, man. Mans. Pablo, you looked more . . . shaved than I was anticipating. heh heh.

See you all at CineTech expo tomorrow.

-Chris
