  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

RED future...

no worries Jim and Red Team. Some of us know EXACTLY what to do with those MONSTRO sensors on the horizon.

BIG SURPRISE AT NAB? PLEASE BE A RED PRO 4K projector for under $75K

That would be nice. We have a couple of Barcos that I would love to replace. Hope there's price break on purchasing 3 or more, Id like to have one floating around for all occasions at work ;) Dreaming big of course :)

When Jim, Jarred and Deanan all comment at the same time, you KNOW something cool is on the horizon. I'm sure Graeme was just too busy writing "magic" code to post! :-)

Would be unbelievable if they had a working Monstro prototype at the show!

I almost feel like camping out at NAB the night before -- like those Star Wars and Harry Potter fanatics, so I can be one of the first to the Red booth on Monday morning.

JIM,

MOTION HDR (HDRx) is revolution in Motion Picture Industry and expecting by year end in every digital cinema camera to talk and implement it else they will be out of business.

Alexander, your thoughts are mine too, amazing how similar to mine.
Just that I was able to buy my REDOne, and now stage 2....but funny to think that I did not have the 1000 for the original downpayment, but in such a short time later I am able to have RED MX and soon EPIC X....

I've always believed in RED.

I've been dying with excitement since the first announcement.

I didn't have the money to put down the $1000, and I didn't know how I could come up with the rest of the money by delivery in those early days.

I literally had to choose between rent and deposit- I chose rent.

I remember thinking, "I'm gonna regret this."

I do. Every day. It wasn't a realistic financial proposition at the time, but I regret it.

Every time I work with this remarkable feat of engineering, I think, I could have tried harder to own one.

Now, I'll buy an Epic X ... almost certainly a stage 4 because I have no buy in at RED.

I may buy an executed R1 cast off after Stage 2 deliveries to hold me over... or I may have to buy an F3. In either case I'll probably buy a CineDeck Extreme.

Of course an F3 with a Cinedeck is exemplary of my new strategy. Buy around your future Red. The Cinedeck is a great piece of gear I'll love using with an Epic. Great for dailies, offline edits or even a full 1080p post cycle.

And... notice that the strategy assumes I'll own a RED?

Thanks for pushing further and further. Definitely can't wait to be outfitting my Epic system.

EPIC (a nuclear reactor in a matchbox) is just the beginning. Hard to believe... but true.
Jim

Speaking of Nuclear Reactors. I sure wish someone with your creativity, vision and resources would focus their efforts on commercializing and standardizing small nuclear generators like those used on Aircraft Carriers.

Just when I thought every hand was revealed, I read this--amazing!

If Red was a health-related company, they would've cured cancer by now. Hmmm.

Great news. I hope, we dont have to wait until NAB to get more information about the future.
