Last week I completed the trade-in/upgrade program from my much beloved, abused, and well used Scarlet-X "Skully" and now have in my quiver a new Epic-X.
I'd like to introduce you all to Epic-X #5232 "Spike":

Since NAB 2013 I've been gearing up like crazy. Spike's 5K and access to higher frame rates will come in handy on jobs I have this month and the immediate future. I'm looking forward to creating some beautiful imagery with this little beast.
I'll leave a link here to my previous camera's thread, as there's useful information for any new Red owner and shooter found within it's pages:
Scarlet-X #316 "Skully"
Spike's journey will be a bit different from Skully in the sense that one day Spike will transform into an Epic Dragon. Until that day comes though I'll be using this Epic-X as much as possible on my own productions and for my client/freelance work.
Huge thanks to Jim, Jarred, Brent, Nick H, Nick G, Madeline and whoever's hands assembled my new Brain. I'm underplaying it a lot, but I'm very grateful to own a camera that can do what this Epic can do. Big day.
About the name: When I was a child I had a knack for taking things apart and putting them back together again, sometimes yielding strange results. I grew up and live in Southern California and Bob's Big Boy has their collectible coin banks. After I saw Gremlins I picked up this Stripe toy and bought one of these banks. "Somehow" I figured out that ripping the head off of Spike I could place it into the Bob's Big Boy body and my little Frankensteinian brain named him "Spike". I've had this thing since I was 5 years old.
Incidentally and perhaps conveniently one of the two main characters in the video game Double Dragon is named Spike
