Hello~ guys...
Does Epic have image reverse func on Mirror-rig system for 3D preview or storage??
Thanks!!
:smile5:

nope.....baffles me since every major production The Epic has under it's belt or is currently involved in is 3D.

I'm sure it will be included in a upcoming update.....

We will need image flipping on the Epics for the Deep Atom as the whole rig turns upside down.

what would be even better is if it also flipped the image signal out of the sdi-out like sony does. Since not all monitors have image flip function.

hope the REDS are listening..........

I can understand the files not being flipped but the sdi signal out would be cool.

So far as I know rolling shutter is still used so its important that both sensors scan in the same direction for 3D, flipping the SDI out or LCD wont cure any 3D scan alignment issues.

Since these features (other than shutter scan direction) have been in the Red One from very early on, it's clear that Red already know about the importance and will implement them when they can.

In the R1 the image is flipped on all monitors, and there is a metadata tag to flip it in post, which is very easy to flip back with a single checkbox if desired.

Dave,

As long as your mirror rig has the cameras properly oriented and both sensors scan from top to bottom (or vice versa) rolling shutter 3D problem is essentially eliminated. Output image flip is simply for operation, rig alignment and other practical uses. Not to speak out of school, but from knowing many (very busy, very conscientious ) REDheads I would say that these features have not yet been implemented because they have other more highly prioritized things to do first. Not everyone with EPIC is shooting 3D. I know, crazy right?

This would also be really useful for when flipping over on steadycam to go low mode...

Would have been handy on many shoots so far so please implement soon RED. (on SDI output too)

Any update on this? I spent most of the day yesterday shooting with an upside down monitor.... it sure would be nice to have this feature enabled!
