I have put together a Quote, for a package that from my research seems ok. I would like some input from red owners with more experience. I have been approved for financing so this is the package I have put together. This will be my first Red camera so I am a bit nervous I would appreciate the help

Hi Jose, I would add one of the following if you intend to use your Red Bricks on the camera:

Backpack Quickplate (Short) - This device features a V-Mount that has a quick release, if you want to quickly adjust the position or remove the battery plate from the camera. Mounts to the Backpack Quickplate and feeds camera power through a LEMO cable.

Quickplate Module - This one attaches directly to the camera and doesn't need a LEMO cable. The power transfer directly through the camera brain.


If you're doing hand held work:
Batter Belt Clip - Doesn't attach to the camera, but can be clipped on a belt and feeds power to the brain via a long LEMO cable.


My other suggestion, and this is really a personal one. Since you are going with the BOMB EVF over one of the Red LCD Touch screens I'd recommend purchasing the DSMC Side Handle. I use the touch screens and even have this thing. It gives you a very speedy way to navigate menus and can live on your camera. However, more importantly you can map the keys to commonly used settings that you may want. Also, eventually if you really want to save weight and size you can drop a REDVOLT in there for a quick shots/setups.

Another thing you may want to check out is the Tactical EVF Mount. It's smaller than the Spinner. Both work, it's more of a preference thing really.

Lastly, I'd recommend getting a Top Handle. The Top Handle really helps when moving the camera around, taking it out of kits, leveling the camera on the tripod. Folks even use it to mount things like an EasyRig to. It's just a real smart and functional buy. However, if you are looking to save weight and size,, you can can quickly remove it.

Everything Phil said is perfect, except for the suggestion for the Top Handle. It is indeed great and I love mind, but no need to purchase it as you are planning on purchasing a clutch and the Top Handle is included in the clutch package.
