  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Red Epic DRAGON M8 6K Challenge Series... Opportunity

Ha ha, I have been on that stage for the last few years!! Still waiting... But I am confident that one of this summers I'll emerge a new me... ;)

Hi Julian,

not in the plans for this current series, mostly because of the Driving with so much gear is a bit prohibitive when only in the accompany of an Intern.

But a plane? Well that we can certainly take... Email me anytime and we'll discuss details to see if timing allows, and btw Manzanillo is also a nice place, I have been there before, many many years ago... ;)

Capturing some Dragon magic with you and Jeffrey would be a pleasure.

Yeah, thought I had things set up to go earlier but had some personal discretionary income hiccups. (Dragon upgrades are mandatory... not discretionary '-) If they get solved soon I may be able to roll in 2014, but for now I am handicapped in my ability to move around.

But the time isn't wasted. I've decided to go ahead and flesh out my script. I prefer to use a script as an outline and add dialog that suits the individual actor... but I get it actors need a sense of their character, so I'm throwing down some lines.

If things do get going when you are in the area, you are welcome on the set with Dragon 8 for a little BTS if you like and I will sign off on your using the footage in your travelogue if you think it fits.

Elsie, we belong to a series of tough Mother #^@## you know what, so we'll prevail and continue on to our journey no matter what no matter how!!

It would be a pleasure to stop by and shoot something... Let's play by ear and see were you are and were I'll be by the time I get closer to you.
 
Dragon M8 travels to Italy 4 a quick Filming stop on the way back to LA... Venice here we come... ;)

how can I not make it back to Chicago after such an incredibly great experience I had there thanks to friend and fellow Reduser Andrew Benz back in 2011 when we shot my first Fashion Film "Carly"!!

And I also love to make that stop, the Grand Rapids have always had it's own fascination, love water, Sand dunes, and have some ideas to get some cool shots, longer exposures super fast exposures, and some articulated Timelapse sequences... Then you'll need to take care of Post on the spot the day after so that they can witness a beginning to end work on Dragon done, and be proud of it while been finished under their now very eyes.

This is what I love doing the most, and this offer does not only goes to Tom, but to any one in similar situations, I have always loved teaching, and I a great at it, in fact so great that some think that those that can shoot do so and those that can't... Teach...

Well I hope I can do both... ;)

So if any one in my Path during this Series on my road trip has similar situations with a bunch of Film Students, I am game to shoot a Dragon piece together beginning to end in a two days work shop, were we shoot on locations and then edit grade deliver a DARGON piece together, and leaving them with something to remember and to continue drawing their inspiration from.

PS: Thanks for sharing my "Skydive Dubai" work with your students... Deeply Humbled by it... ;)

Ketch, thanks so much for planning a stop with us on your tour…my students (and I) will be excited to see you and M8 Dragon. I think this experience will make an excellent class project, guarantee we will make the most of the opportunity!! And we will get to combine shooting and post (two of my favorite things, lol). Can't wait to talk more about this with you at NAB!

My absolute pleasure Tom!!

I'm delaying my return back to the US by couple of weeks to get a chance and shoot some Dragon love with my Italian fellow Reduser, so it might take a bit longer to get to you guys but we'll plan it accordingly at NAB for sure, and give your Students a shoot to remember... ;)

No worries…best to come here in June or July…that is when the weather is at it's best and everything looks spectacular...
 
Don't forget Kentucky, I'm just saying were more than just basketball, horses, corvetts, caves, mountians, and fried chicken. I would love to help as I know your skills are fantastic.
 
Come up to the Hudson Valley in NY Ketch! Lot's of great stuff here. If you're starting on the west coast, I even might have my own Dragon by the time you get here!

Walkway over the Hudson - Longest and highest pedestrian bridge in the world (converted rail bridge)
Bannerman's Castle and Island
Howe Caverns - sweet underground cave system, perfect to test Dragon!
Beautiful Mountains and Lakes - Minnewaska, Mohonk
Numerous Historic Mansions on the River - Vanderbilt Mansion, Mills Mansion, Roosevelt Home.

My arsenal would be at your disposal. Plus I'm sure I can get some extra hands to help out!

Yeah William, Kentucky I know has some great stuff to shoot, it will all come down to how I'll organize this trip, back and forth form one side to the either of the country, I'll need to try and avoid too much Zig-Zagging, but the main reason for me posting here, is exactly for flashing out fellow Reduser in particular location, and try to map out my travels based on whom replies and were their locates are.

NY will definitely see Dragon M8, and so will surrounding areas, it would be either on th sway down to Florida, or on the way back.

Speaking of which, I've been incorporating Biotta Beet Juice in my daily regimen. Studies say it will smooth the linings of the veins and arteries, give a person more stamina, and even re-invigorate parts of a brain that may have gone dormant (yes! brain cells may not be lost over time but simply become dormant!) by way of getting oxygen to those dormant cells. If I can find the links I'll send them to you in the usual manner.

One thing, though. The beet juice by itself has an earthy taste to it. But that is easily tolerated by mixing with pineapple juice, as I do, or practically any other preferred juice. (Also works well when poured over a natural yougurt & ice cream mix '-)

Tone of people in LA have Ryan, but I would be more then pleased to have you work with me again... And this time surely NOT as a BTS Cinematographer... ;)

PS: Perfect opportunity to thank you again for everything you did on the Dragon shoot with me back in September... You have a favor coming from me and Dragon M8 anytime possible my friend!!

Hey Dave,
just wrapped Venice Italy, and departing for Monte Rosa, we'l be at NAB for the duration, and in LA after that, just not sure at this point if I'll remain in LA or headed to Mexico for a large reject, or be right back to Italy for a summer project here, and return to LA in October.

But if you are at NAB I'll be there for sure, if not I'll see you in LA...
