  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Nice update! Really a great improvement and lots of fantastic content! Once this whole EPIC/SCARLET storm blows over, it would be well worth your guys time to create more content for the site. How about a Film to RED Switcher's Guide? ;)

Could be that for some of us should look carefully at Christmas tree with presents and find something that is named Epic...

Maybe some of lucky Tattoo guys....
 
As you guys check out the new site, we will obviously be checking this thread for feedback. While we tested the snot out of it before launch, a thousand REDusers is a good test base :)

In my opinion sounds should be disabled by default with an option to enable. The only time I expect sound from a website is if I explicitly take action to hear a sound such as clicking a link designated as an audio/visual element or deliberately enabled sound for the website.

I feel like a criminal reading your promotional material. That really turns me off from the website.

It's unnecessarily litigious. It's not as completely absurd as HDRx™™™™ popping up with a stupid little trademark symbol every 2 words on REDUser but it's pretty silly and smells of paranoia.

I say save the fine print for the patents and legal briefs.

EDIT: and yes all those TMs were created by REDUser not me.

When I click on the “Coming Soon” for Scarlet nothing happens though. It’s minor but if there’s no holder page it probably shouldn’t show like a link. I don’t get any audio if there was suppose to be some (based on another post).

*EDIT* There's a camera "snapshot" sound connected to the arrows of the "shot on RED page". Only audio I heard though.

Is there a way to make your contact information actual text in the contact information? I usually highlight addresses and paste them into Bing Maps or Google Maps. Since they're imagery I would have to retype them. If there was a way to have invisible text over the images so that we could highlight them that would be nice. It would also allow automatic context highlighting for phone numbers on cell phones to provide a link. If I'm away from a laptop and need to look up a RED phone number but have to switch back and forth between the browser and the dialer you've added a level of difficulty to the user experience that isn't worth the fancy font.
EDIT: Sorry, never-mind it works on my phone. I guess highlighting is just a problem on the PC (Chrome 7.0/ Windows 7 here).
