I saw that #006, 007 have red allen screws, just as the Epic prototypes did. Are you guys incorporating this into the final design or will those screws just be for Epic-M models? I'd really love to have the red screws in my Stage-4 Epic... :drool5:

I would really like Red LEDs that screw into the screws and light up when the camera is on. Probably will have to go third party for that option.:001_tt1:

Again... just send your check.

You'll curse your red LEDs when you're shooting your 'Lady From Shanghai' mirror sequence remake. ;)

Heh, heh...

I've decided to just hang a string of led Christmas lights on the camera, 'cause it is my Christmas present to myself for many years to come.

And, they will be easy to unplug for the 'Lady From Shanghai' mirror sequence remake:001_smile:

He was talking about the LED joke though, wasn't he? I didn't see that as a response to the original question.

The last understanding I got is that RED will do pretty much whatever you ask of them in terms of customization - so long as you are willing to pay for it.

From Mr. Hutson's "10 Scarlet Questions..." Thread>>>

[Joseph Hutson]

SELFISH QUESTION #11: Could I have my Scarlet finished in Silver just as your RED #10? I'd like to name it "High Yo Silver"

[Jarred Land's Response]
Kind of... the side"cosmetic" pieces on Scarlet are removable.. and you can get different finishes. I can't remember if we officially mentioned that before for the 2/3"...... but you can. But please... No pink.

Of course, I have no idea if that offer still stands...Jarred?

Any word on the red screws?

Some words from Jarred...

The RED screws are my fault.. I put those in some cameras at the very beginning.. Just because I like they way they looked. I littered the Spiderman cameras with them. Production cameras are black.

they actually turned out to be total shit... made of aluminum. After our poor techs went through extracting a dozen broken threads.. we decided to use grown up bolts :)

Just warning you.. if the screws are aluminum.. they will likely void your warranty :)

Titanium might be a good option.. too bad anodizing titanium any decent color sucks so bad.

M8 also had RED screws when we first got it, then when it went in for the first service check, they were changed, as Jarred stated that they were not good in of for RED's standard.

We have been working with an Italian well know manufacturer, but since I'm always traveling things have gotten on the back burner,
once I come back from the Brazilian trip, I'll look this up again, then make few, send them to Jarred, and await approval, then they will go to market,
just a word of caution, this are not cheap, likely 10 times more expensive then regular ones, or even up and over $1 each.

The Red screws look so cool though... Keep us posted Ketch I'll pay $2-3 dollars per screw lol

I had red screws on my first Epic-M #98, but when it went to Red for service it came back with black screws. I was told they didnt hold up and had to be replaced.
