Since I find myself spending most of my online reading time in various cinematography forums, I thought it'd be a good idea to have one right here at home with a new RED forum dealing with cinematography.

Good idea?

I like that idea. DVXuser has one why not here? I know we can't shoot RED just yet, but it would be good, for general discussions and sharing tips

Brook Willard is the only person who said no!

Brook has a good sense of humor...he said no, but I promise you he meant yes.

Hey Gibby,

I'm gonna hold off on this for another 10 days. I really wanna see what RED announces about everything..

I feel there are a few too many RED forums right now. I like your suggestion, and agree we need one, but some others may need to go away.

Too much to look at. Anyway give me a little over a week

Jay

Hey Jay,

A cinematography forum wasn't my suggestion - it was the suggestion of the guy who started this thread (Alexander Nikishin). I think the idea has some good merit, but I didn't vote in the poll and simply made a comment about Brook.

I would wait till after delivery (not being negative though), so for now...no.
btw, it's alright to go over to cinematography.com and check out all the non red forums for information until then. Great resources over there. Just avoid the haters.

great idea, and great idea to make David the mod.

Cinematography is the most important topic relating to RED though, after all, aren't we all looking forward to shooting in 4k and making some pretty pictures.

Do you work for National Enquirer? You misquoted me HORRIBLY there dude.. The REST of the post said that your cinematography forum is a good idea but some of the more fringe forums would need to go. There are too many.

Next thing you know you'll have me calling Gibby a "Nappy Headed Ho" and then I'll get FIRED!

Jay

:)

Hey Gibby,

I have a new chamois, wheel brush and lemon scented air fresheners. :shifty:

Bookmark New Posts. :)

Having a cinematography forum would keep interests focused on a particular subject so those who are not interested don't have to skip over them in the main forums. Having said that, the way the forums are laid out don't seem very intuitive as they are right now.

There is already a great cinematography forum with professional DPs moderators, very strict rules and for the most part also quite disciplined contributors: cinematography.net

Yes, but we like the people and overall passion of the RED USER group!

I can't wait to start seeing pictures and clips posted here.

Besides we will all soon be "D"igital "C"inematographers - D.C.'s and not just DPs.:weight_lift:

That could be arranged...

I'm familiar with you and your personality, but I think you're over the line with that comment Jay. Connecting my name to racially degrading comments doesn't fly with me, smiley face emoticon or not....and yes Jarred and the moderators will back me up on that.

I can joke with the best of them, but using my name with that phrase is not appreciated. OK?

I smiled through your sarcastic comment toward me in your post #10 of this thread...but I'm not smiling now.
