Stolen RED One Package from Bigfoot Offices in Venice, CA - April 2010

If someone is selling a used RED ONE body and equipment it could be stolen.

RED ONE Package was taken from Bigfoot Entertainment in Venice, CA on/about 4/15/10
Serial Number 4262.
Here is a list of everything that was included in Bigfoot's black pelican case.
Hard drive Nikon Mount, Top and Side Handle, Top Mount, 2 RED Arms (5 inch), There are also some cables, blots, and a tool kit, One RED Camera Body, Two RED Zoom Lenses:18-50mm @ f/2.8 and 50-150mm @ f/2.8, Two Battery Packs, One Battery Charger, Base production pack, RED LCD 5.6"
RED Power pack, Bottom Plate and 2 - Shoulder dove Tails

Bigfoot has notified the authorities and all camera houses.

How many stolen REDs are floating around? Seems like quite a few. Would they be in circulation though? We tend to rent from the same places but sometimes you have to rent on the fly from other places (especially when shooting in Europe). If there is a list would it be worth having it available on here so we can always check, or would that not be a good idea? I remember being offered a stolen BBC Digibeta in a pub a good few years ago. He'd obviously had the camera for some time and didn't know what to do with it. He only wanted £50 for it.
 
Our Dragon was stolen this weekend... Rental client had it out for a hiphop video shoot in a suburb outside Stockholm and later at night the DP was apparently confronted with a gang that took the dragon and some of the lenses at knife point.

So please keep an eye out especially around Stockholm.

Some young guns shooting 3 videos... dont know the name of the groups. But the mags where stolen as well so I think the videos will not be released any time soon. But the cops have a pretty good case to work on, I think they can actually bring it back... Shit thing with swedish police is that they are pretty much closed over the weekend. If they would have been able to send a car out on an adress they would have it already but they apparently did not have the resource for anything more than taking phonecalls during the weekend. This morning they start to work on the case, so with a bit of luck the same guys are still sitting on the camera, but I doubt it. :(

Calling the insurance company now, will see how that goes.
 
Holy crap Björn, that's really sad to hear! I hope it wasn't the HAWCs they took? :nonod:
What's the status today, has the police any leads?
 
This really pisses me off! Even if the police catch the thieves its pretty lame punishments in sweden (not that punishment will cure the behavior but that another story). Hope you se your dragon sooner rather later and as Christoffer say that its not the HAWCs that is missing. And of course that they don't have to reshoot all materials that already been shoot for those music videos.
