Did they try and put Epic's in there as well? I saw a bts video with a quick shot of screwing something onto an EPIC, but I know they went with R1's for this.

Not sure, Jay Nemeth ( who is a rockstar btw ) has devoted the last many years of his life getting this jump off the ground, and he started testing and modifying and building alot of custom rigs for the R1 for this jump well before Epic even existed, so I know that was their Primary.

Wow, goes to show that the Red One, though It has been around a while is still a great camera. Red One will always hold a special place in my heart. That camera was literally life changing for me.
I would think that the size/weight of the epic would be a big plus in this scenario. It would be cool to see this recorded in HDRX.

Having been involved with this project for a little while...... they went with R1s because the capsule, camera mounts and pressurized enclosures were all designed and built before Epic was available. R1 is essentially a part of the capsule design.
Project Startos has been going on for 5 years now.

It's funny because yesterday I was reading about it. And when I saw the specs of the cameras I thought, 4K? and 2K 120fps, it must be RED ONES, And know you post these images.
