• Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Red Arri bridge plate

I was looking at this the other day as also got a little confused.

You still need to buy the riser though, right?

And then is it to correct height for say Canon long lenses with their standard support? Or does it also depend on the lens?

EDIT: Wasn't able to watch the video before. Now I get it. So no need for the riser.

Also confused, I wrote to WC support and they said you need the riser even with the new bridgeplate, which does not make sense since there is a Red version which one would think could make the height correct without and additional shim?

This is what they said: Please note that if you do plan to use rods for any setup, you will need to have the Easy Riser installed before the Unified Bridgeplate. This ensures that your lenses are at the correct industry height to accommodate additional accessories.

Yeah, that's what confuses me - you need the riser anyway, so why the difference in the bridge plate???

I Guess it's for people who have multiple cameras ? One bridge to fit them all ?

Exactly. It's called a unified bridge plate - there is a riser to make it fit for different cameras. So only need to manufacture one type of bridge plate.

I guess its better adding the correct riser to have a solution for multible cameras, than have a bridge plate that you cannot remove height to fit a csrtain camera, in the case of solid fixed bridge plates that are made for one camera .

But....still far for a universal smarter solution and only serves people that have many different cameras.

the smart solution would be a transformer ....hahaha but its quite a chalenge..
