As a first time RED buyer, is it worth purchasing an extended RED Armor warranty for the S-W? I guess another question, is it even available for the Scarlet Weapon?

I'm not sure I would buy it again for my next RED camera. Then again, I've been lucky and rarely had any issues with my Epic. The extended warranty was never used.

It was comforting to know that when I switched to the Dragon sensor, it was covered by my extended warranty past the given warranty that the sensor comes with. It was also comforting to have since I rent and you never know what clients would do...then again they may do stuff that isn't covered under warranty (like fall in the lake with it or aim a laser at it).

If you can afford it easily, I'd get it. If it is like scraping the bottom of the barrel to afford it or going into debt to pay, I'm not sure it's worth it. Piece of mind however is a nice thing.

Yeah I'm sure this didn't help you much.

I think you can add it at anytime in the first year (but double check that) and I had it on my camera. I think it's great, like AppleCare it's really handy to have if anything goes wrong.

what the hell it wasnt there a minute ago! haha…
hmmm, well it was never offered to me, never mentioned.

Should definitely be a "check out" item on RED.com to add to your cart, or at the very least a question from Bomb Reps before any major purchase. Thanks Phil for the info.
