Just trying to see what else is out there and recommended - I know RED usually has a quick turnaround if I place an order, but I for sure need something very fast to support my 5" touch LCD while using a shoulder rig.

UPDATE: Took someone's advice and grabbed the Manfrotto Hydrostatic Arm on short notice!

Remember now the touch can soon be upside down... that makes it more easy to mount in eyesight left of camera and other places.

Sounds like the OP needs something immediately and the 4.0 software may not be out for another week or two. Or it could drop tomorrow. But we just don't know.

Hey guys, thanks for the responses, but the P&C + the cheap magic arms I've had terrible experiences with (they came very loose after only a few uses).

I tried a bunch of different options and definitely the one I like most is a 220mm swat rail attached to a 15mm bridge on my lightweight rods. Very fast, sturdy and exactly where I want it.

I like the hydrostatic arms from Manfrotto. At first glance they appear similar to the Noga-style arms like the one Red sells, but those arms rely on friction which will fail over time. The Manfrotto arms use a hydraulic fluid chamber so only modest tightening of the knob locks it securely in place.

Hi Brendan -

Where did your P&C arm come loose? Do you have the model with Teeth at the middle ball joint?

Hey Matthew,

I actually checked and it wasn't a P&C, just looked similar (but without the teeth!) - sorry about the confusion!
