What is the smallest video converter for the RED ONE camera so it can output composite video to feed my ARCHER 2 SE steadicam rig?

Ideally would be 9volt battery powered or take power from the steadicam sled or even the RED camera itself.

obvious question

obvious question

Why not use HDMI out with Red?
there is a slew of small HDMI monitors starting from $200 on ebay and such...

Thanks guys Ill try the decimator.

And I cant use the hdmi out as I have very specific monitor (SUPER HIGH BRIGHTNESS) that is composite only

contact me off list there is new technology out for monitor brightness. I think much lighter and straightforward. I have a sample 7" monitor (with HDMI)you could try.
14 oz weight, 8 W power draw- as bright as you want..

Hdmi sucks on set... it is a consumer connector that doesn't lock. This is why BNC connectors are standard fare for professionals

Dec or Aja are the most common. The Aja has a dtap power connector option

Original Decimator; designed here in Oz by Redbyte. Not sure if you can still get the original one; the new one is a fair bit larger as it also does HDMI cross-conversion.

Give them a call on (02) 9011 1035 and they can find you a distributor.

A Powertap input cable or 4-pin Lemo power cable will set you back about $80 from your local friendly custom cable maker.

The problem with that is that HDMI cannot be fed through the center post of a Steadicam sled. It is too thick. Also HDMi is in many ways a crappy standard, as teh plugs easily pop out.
