So is there an AB plate too?

Looks like a dovetail back that fits the same ol' RED battery plate. I suppose one could adapt from there or make a dovetail to fit the "BACKPACK".

Are there still more posts to come tonight?

More coming... the best for last.

I really do appreciate how hard you guys work.....I mean you could be home sipping whisky, and kicking it with your feet up. But nope you guys work till the wee hours of the morning and let us do that......I respect that.

Keep it up :)

Umm $400 for a baseplate ? The regular epic mounting plate is $100 so you added $300 just for the two rod clamps ! hoooooooly.

I think 400 is a reasonable price considering you can take off the 15mm and throw on 19mm mount.

Not too shabby in my book.

It's hard to tell for certain from the photo's, but I think the 15mm adapter could be swapped out with universal 19mm mounts. If that allows for standard spacing then you can now take your 19mm rails, FF, Matte-box, etc with you on your quick release plate.

Pretty freakin cool.

Ah, so the 19mm fronts from the RED/DSMC QR kits can be mounted onto this one? So i just need the new plate if I dont want the 15mm?

It seems like there would be a vertical alignment issue using this with Universal Mounts.

There is more to come tonight... then more to come next week.

I just went to the View Factor site and if you add up their base plate and the 15mm adaptor it adds up to $435 and that doesn't even have the quick release base or the support pins...

Will i can't stay up any longer, long shoot tomorrow and need my sleep. I'll just have to wait and see what amazing new toys santa has in wait for me under the tree when i get up and check before heading out!

Again! Awesome work Jim, Jarred, Matt, and the whole red team. So far everything is exactly what i've been looking for!

Any chance to get the Canon Mount soon?
My Canon Lenses are jealous and I can't wait to use the 400 / 2.8 on the EPIC ;-)

Yes, and it is even a upgradeble and future proof Porsche!!!!
