  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

it was the people.

I have taken a lot of "factory" tours in the last couple years.. But never have I seen such a dedicated group of well trained people with the heart and soul of RED working together to create incredible products. Seriously. It's incredible to watch.

For all you owners out there... I really hope if youcan feel the love and the passion that has gone into making what you hold in your hand.

Gunner and Rosetttes are finally ready??? HOPE SO!! cant wait for the Gunner... its the coolest (tightest) way to go handheld.

He he, I am no longer surprise form anything coming from Matt, we already know you picked him up on an other Planet., so form him we can expect the unexpected and then some...
just bring it on, what ever it is we want it, and we want it know, ha ha... ;)

It was great talking to Matt at Nab, I just suggested to add: self illuminating leveling bubbles ( like the ones we use on tripods ) that attach with a peg to any of the holes of the accessories.

Not a bad idea. I picked up some that will stick on to the camera for x and y axis leveling. They were originally sold for sticking above the wheel wells of motor homes for the purpose of leveling.
 
Are these new accessories items that we never even knew RED were making or something we've already seen and were waiting on? Sorry, gotta ask
 
New accessories (mechanical) that you haven't seen before. We will be rolling these out bit by bit over the next month in anticipation of the Epic-X program starting.
 
Are these accessories of such that we should consider holding off purchases of third party accessories out there as of now? Name engraving included?

Well I guess that is a personal choice. I've purchased the bare minimum of what I need to work with my Epic, and will wait for the the dust to settle between Red, Action Products, View Factor, Wooden Camera, and ET before deciding on the rest. Luckily I don't have my Bomb EVF yet, so I can wait and see who's options work best for the style of shooting I do. I guess the wise person would wait until they need something before purchasing since its all such moving targets right now.

My bomb EVF is sitting nice and quiet in it's box waiting for it's Epic-X. Been working a lot with Alexa and LOVE the viewfinder holder and extension. The Red SPINNER better be on par with design, modularity, ease of use and strength. As I mentioned in another post, money is no object when it comes to choose between the best accessories. For now, ARRI Alexa's viewfinder holder is by far the best I have worked with. Other solutions from third parties are nice and you can't have enough options for every budget and line of work.
Still waiting to see ET and RED final solutions but my ARRI parts catalog is still on my desk...
