  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

red 512 mags

normally in a 64GB or 128GB media i can shoot in the Epic @98fps at 12:1... in case i decide to go in a 512GB media, will i have a lower compression @98fps?
 
spoke with red and it looks like they are changing something with the 512 mags....no time frame on when the new ones are coming, but they ARE coming....right now they are not available....i don't think the specs will differ (much, maybe slightly different compression rates) but they are tweaking them a bit....

Wonder what this means for us current 512 owners? (If anything)
 
Guys, I'm looking to buy another 512 Gb REDMAG. I have one, need two for 3D underwater rig. The reason for 512 Gb is that you can't change the media when underwater. Anyone willing to part with one?

It probably means another firmware update... Hopefully you have your 512 REDMAG on the current (V3, I think) firmware. If not, RED can update it for you. The 512's have been a bit flakey, hopefully they get it ironed out soon.

i did not get any info, but i don't think it is a hardware thing...sounded more like special software sauce....especially in regard to dragon...
