This just got released, i only found it on myspace, but i am sure it will show up other places soon...

I shot the helicopter shot, cant say it was the best of what i shot, but i am not the label nor the editor.

this was one of the most bizarre scenes i have ever witnessed, still can't quite understand it...but maybe you can...

enjoy...

Wow, that is a weird fricken music video... Footage looks great... Can't say much else than that!

not to put anyone down, but this is one of the worst music videos I have ever seen. It looks more like it was shot on an HVX than a red...though it is on myspace vid, so that hurts it a bit. Anyway, hope I am not offending anyone involved.

there is a higher quality video on youtube now, you can see it on my channel under favorites. although in watching it, it still is very poorly compressed...ill ask the label if i can post higher quality quicktimes...if anyone cares.

I have to say I agree. And it has nothing to do with photographic quality.

I love wacky, effed up videos and this was just really boring after you got past looking at the BG. There was no core content.

RED #0031 is one busy mofo. OH how I envy thee. Visually, excellent as usual. Keep up the good work

BTW, were those the same costumes used in the "Love is a Battle field" video?
It's interesting how the arrangement, the lyrics, and the video were all a 1980's throwback...suddenly I'm craving to listen to "A flock of Seagulls" music

we shot that in boulder city nevada. which was the first real city in nevada, basically base camp for the building of the hoover dam. the site was actually the airport from back in that day, with the hanger which you can briefly see in the final shot acting as our basecamp.

inside the hanger, besides the usually makeup, hair, production, craft service, talent holding area, grip & electric truck, blah blah blah, were 10 8' tables arranged in a large square, and on the tables were all the fabric and what not used to make those costumes, it was an unbelievable scene. i had shown up the night before, having brought the lenses, sticks, heads and of course the cameras and computers for my gig. when i arrived after having driven from LA, it was midnight, and all of the art department and wardrobe department were still on site building those costumes and finalizing the construction of that wedding cake thingy. it was a most bizzare moment. i actually was kind of blown away at how many wardrobe people were there working into the wee hours of the night, and there was no electricity on site so it was loud gennys and those home depot work lights keeping them going and it was about 20 degree F.

i knew the next day would be, well, just wierd...and it was...

and finally, yes i am busy, ....i will continue to keep you all in the loop, thanks for your support.

I would love to see something less compressed, was it mostly an 18mm lens? Any other details you can give about the camera side of the shoot?

it was actually a three camera shoot, one camera had the optimo 24-290 on it and was on a dolly, the other camera was on a crane and another camera was on a steadicam, i also took the steadicam camera and put it into a red handheld config and took it up in a helicopter...when you see the helicopter shot, you can also see the 360 dollytrack, so the dolly and crane were both on the dolly track moving in concert.

we used ultra primes, but i can not tell which lens was up at what time, but we used many lenses. (three cameras to keep track of exposure, and data...no extra bandwidth for tracking lenses <that is what a 2nd ac is for>).

Great stuff Dino,

Thanks for posting.....I saw the Killers in LA 3 years back, they have a flair for abstract visuals.

Man how I loved the Killers first song. Now they seem like a wack azz band. In my opinion. they went from top of the world to where in the world. Bring back the Original Killers! You did a good job with the actual video by the way. The weak link was the band.
