  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Record only ProRes?

Wonder if there might be a firmware update down the road to record only to prores and uses the extra band with to shoot 4K prores (on mag weapon)? Basically loose the .r3d + prores and gain 4K prores option by only recording PR?

playback in camera is not available with ProRes only recording.

...and your ProRes clips will be split into 4GB chunks (just like the .R3D files).

They really should updated the file format system from Fat32 to something this side of the year 2000 that actually supports files of any size. I really don't understand why stick with Fat32.

Various levels of writing security. If you roll an hour take for instance and something extremely chaotic occurs, like say pulling the power. Odds are you have a usable take in there.

Just found out something very special. Wondering why this is like it is.

Recording Settings 2K 60psF on a 512G SSD

Dual Recording, R3D Raw Recording 8:1 and ProRes 422 = 1.26 Recording time

Only ProRes 422 = 1.26 Recording time

Dual Recording, R3D Raw Recording 22:1 and ProRes 422 = 1.48 Recording time
Only ProRes 422 = 1.48 Recording time

So Recording on Dual mode makes sense that the Recording time changes, but on ProRes only why changes the Recording time depending on the compression on the R3D files I don't what to record?
