I'm a first time user (editing with Red) and I'm going to edit a short film in Final Cut Pro 7 on a Mac Pro (quad core).
I'm going make an offline edit using ProRess files of the original Red Files, which I rendered using Red Rushes.(The ProRess files I've stored in new
folders, per shooting day.)
My question is about how I can reconform the quickest and best way to an online edit when I've finished editing, at 2K resolution. I've had some advice about exporting the sequence as a XML file and that I should work with Clipfinder to relink to the original files. And then import the XML in Final Cut and export it to Color for grading. I've already installed Clipfinder 2.2, but I can't figure it out.
Do I have to relink each shot individually, because each shot has his own folder with the original file and proxies? Or is there another way? And are there mistakes first time users often make in the process of reconforming that I should be aware of?
