Looking for a filter strictly to protect the front lens element in hazardous situations. Blacksmithing, Welding, dust, debris (impact resistant would be cool :) ), etc.

I have a shoot coming up. It will be a rather dark environment (blacksmithing). I will be lighting but I would rather not put an ND on.

I have shot with screw on UV filters, but I'm not sure how I feel about those.

Any recommendations for 4x4 or 4x5.6 filters that are essentially clear and DO NOT affect Image Quality whatsoever?

Any glass optical clears should do fine, it's pretty much what they are designed for.

In some pinches I've seen some people use acrylic or plexi when stones and things are flying at the camera, but it will effect image quality, though there are pretty "clear" options these days.
